Report Vintage Tackle Shows...

Here�s some info on tackle shows put on by the NFLCC (National Fishing Lure Collectors Club). There are magnificent desplays of old, vintage tackle, much for sale, and a BONUS- there are many displays with newer rods, reels and lures for sale at bargain prices! My Kunan Steelhead rod, and two of my baitcasting reels have come from this show at bargain prices!

If you�re in the area, these shows are amazing to visit- families invited!

You do not need to be a member of the NFLCC to be admitted. A �temporary� 1-day membership is required, cost is $5 and can be obtained at the door.

This year�s Region 2 show - formerly the ALLENTOWN SHOW - will be held at the Holiday Inn located off Interstate 81, Exit 80 at 604 Station Road, Grantville, PA 17028. Near Hershey, PA in the Eastern end the state.Visit www.stayholiday.com to view this spectacular venue. Ballroom for show is the Majestic. Show will sell out fast. Make room reservations by calling 1-717-469-0661. Mention NFLCC for super- special room rate of $78+tax. You must request a microwave and fridge for 4-6 room nights, there is a one-time $50 charge; for 3 or less room nights $10 per appliance per night. Room block expires Sept.28 or when sold out. Saturday show hours 9 am, setup for table holders only, 10 am for members without tables. Show closes 4 to 6 pm for dinner and reopens 6 to 9 pm. Sun day show hours are 9 am until 1pm. Show features Club Shop, 50/50 raffles and auction. Show registration is $10 each person attending. 8� tables are $25 ea. Table registration deadline is Oct. 2, 2010 or until sold out. Tables & registration for table holders must be paid before Oct. 2, 2010 - no exceptions.

Our tech admin has recently installed Tapatalk. Tapatalk is a forum app for use on the Iphone, Blackberry, Androi and Nokia. With Tapatalk installed, members can now easily be updated with what's going on. Be sure to check us out if you are able to do so!:)

Discussion Catfish?

I noticed how nobody seemed to be posting any methods on catching catfish!

I'll start by posting my method and if you have your own method, feel free to share!:)

Get on a depth of 20-30 ft in the mid-summer.

Get a glow-hook and put some corn or/w a piece of worm on it!

Make sure to have a bright flashlight above the water so it can send a direct beam and attract more fish.

This method always works for me!

You can buy a special water lamp and put it on the water (it floats) which is a better than the flashlight method.

Easy fish batter recipe

1 cup flour
1 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 cup Milk
1 egg
1 1/2 lbs Fish

Mix flour and other dry stuff together...stir in Milk and Egg until smooth. LET STAND 20 MINUTES. Coat and fry. You can add whatever spices you like. I perfer it the way it is. This batter really sticks to the Fish.

4 Things I Learned- Almost!

Have fished Lake Arthur in PA a few times with my brother-in-law from Pittsburgh several year ago . Some very nice Bass in there! That was where I learned 1) turn on your depth finder early and 2) it don't lie! Was running pretty fast into a bay, turned on depth finder and it said "1 foot"! C'mon, not possible! Big grinding sound and motor popped up, we stopped. Yep--- had slid right onto a big sandbar! Also found out 3) it takes a long time to push your way off a sandbar with a paddle! I have the worst dang luck in boats- one reason why I prefer fishing from shore!
Oh yea- you think I would have learned from the experience above, wouldn't you. Just a little while back, a buddy and I had just pulled the boat into a big bay in Georgian Bay, Ontario, Canada. Turned on depth finder--- "1 foot" again! Bang! Motor jumps. This time it was a big flat rock rising up out of 10 feet of water! 4) it takes almost as long to pry your way off a flat rock with a paddle as it does a sandbar! Anyone want to go on a boat ride with me now?
These are kind of humorous (not at the time!), but know how much water you have below the boat at ALL TIMES, especially if you're on unfamiliar water! Best---- JoeW

Cool Fishing for snappers...

I was reading a fishing magazine, and I read about Dry totugas national park which is located in florida (as far as im accurate) and beyond the coral reefs, their are great varieties of snapper down there. The sizes are great and the area is really nice!:)

New to the forum... I am stuck in the heat of Texas right now. I would much rather be fly fishing in the mountains of Colorado or New Mexico. I love fishing and run a few small fishing sites: a fishing pictures website and a fishing and outdoors link directory. Happy fishing!

The San Juan Islands is a good place for fishermen who want to rent a good boat. They friendliest fishermen are located right there. These beautiful islands are full of some exotic fish...

Due to the popularity of theses islands, anglers know that soon fish will be really hard to catch but the Washington State Department of Fisheries releases fish every year to maintain the population of fish.

Some of the best Chinook fishing was caught in that place for over 25 years...:D

Hey folks,

The spare time that I have away from Outdoor-Fishing and work, I spend remodelling the bedroom. The room remodelling process involves removing the old carpet, securing the floor with screws, and laying down the hardwood flooring. What you see in the pictures is all Oak Hardwood. The border is a pre-finished hardwood floor board (maple I believe) and is grooved using a table saw. The inlay for the grooved pattern is a red wood (custom ordered). All floor boards were nailed and glued to ensure the best flooring strength possible! The room is almost ready for the lacquering phase. Prior to this the flooring will need some sanding for a smooth floor. Enjoy the pics!
